Who We Are

Hello, we’re Mr. and Mrs. Goulden — primary school teachers and Computing Leads with over a decade of classroom experience. We’re both still teaching and leading computing in Manchester-based schools, which keeps everything we create grounded in real classroom practice.

Goulden Time began during the COVID lockdown, when we were searching for simple, ad-free touchscreen games for our two-year-old. Using our coding background, we built our own — playful little activities to teach early touch control and problem-solving. Those early games sparked something much bigger: a vision to give all children the same opportunity to build secure digital foundations through purposeful play.

Today, Goulden Time supports children from ages 2 to 11, helping them develop the fundamental knowledge and skills that underpin computing. What began as a few simple games has grown into a complete platform offering interactive learning experiences, curriculum resources, individual lessons and Computing Curriculum Support for schools — all designed to make computing meaningful, manageable, and inspiring.

What We Do

We create digital learning experiences and computing resources designed by teachers, for teachers.

Goulden Time now includes:

  • Play – 20 free, ad-free touchscreen games for schools and families built around EYFS ELGs and the SEND Engagement Model.

  • Play+ – an expanding library that will eventually move to a low-cost annual subscription to help fund new games.

  • Individual Lessons & Resources – standalone, ready-to-use activities and tools that support teachers in delivering engaging computing sessions.

  • The Goulden Time Computing Curriculum – a complete, flexible framework for EYFS to KS2 that empowers teachers and Computing Leads to deliver computing with confidence.

  • Computing Curriculum Support – in-person and virtual consultancy to help schools implement and strengthen their computing provision.

Our Mission

At Goulden Time, our goal has always been simple: to make computing education approachable, creative, and rooted in real classroom experience.

We believe children learn best when technology feels like a tool for discovery — not a barrier or a bolt-on. That’s why everything we create, from early-years touchscreen games to full curriculum frameworks, is designed to build confidence step by step, developing the knowledge and curiosity that underpin digital learning for life.

We know that every school is different, and that teachers need resources that fit their pupils, their timetable, and their confidence levels. Our approach focuses on giving educators the tools and understanding to shape computing around their own community — creating classrooms where every child, from age 2 to 11, can explore, create, and thrive.

Looking Ahead

We’re developing new ways to support schools — from curriculum audits and planning guidance to CPD and Computing Lead mentoring. Our goal is to help schools embed computing deeply and sustainably.

Whether through our games, curriculum or consultancy, we aim to build confidence, spark curiosity, and inspire a love of digital learning.
